Obligations
Yes. The AEAI fire protection regulations require owners and operators to inspect and maintain their fire protection equipment, and to record this work in the building's control logbook (directive 11‑15, section 4.1.1(h); directive 12‑15, section 4.2).
The regulations apply to owners and operators. When management is entrusted to a property manager or a condominium (PPE) administrator, responsibility stays with the owners, but in practice it is their representative who keeps and stores the documents. QRONO lets them do so for the whole portfolio.
AEAI directive 108‑15 defines the control logbook as a log that may be kept on paper or electronically. For a specific installation, the fire protection authority of your canton remains the reference if in doubt.
As defined by directive 108‑15, each entry includes at least the location, the date, the reason and the activity, as well as the surname, first name and signature of the person responsible. In QRONO, this information is recorded at every inspection and the technician signs on screen to validate the entry.
Directive 11‑15 (para. 2.2 sec. 3) requires owners to keep fire protection documents and make them available to the authority, from construction until the building is completely demolished. In QRONO, the inspection history stays attached to the building, including when the property manager changes.
QRONO keeps the control logbook for the building's fire protection equipment: fire extinguishers, fire hose reels, smoke extraction, emergency lighting, etc. Some systems also have their own logbook, kept at the control panel: fire detection (directive 20‑15) and sprinklers (19‑15). For these, QRONO tracks inspections and deadlines, but the log kept at the panel (alarms, faults, shutdowns) stays on site.
No. QRONO is a tracking and documentation tool: it is not an inspection, an expert assessment or a certificate of compliance. Inspections are still carried out by your maintenance companies; QRONO makes sure they happen on time, that nothing is forgotten and that every visit is recorded in the logbook.
General
QRONO keeps the control logbook for your buildings' fire protection systems, always up to date. You record your equipment once and put a QR label on each item; from then on, every inspection entered and signed on site by the maintenance company becomes an entry in the logbook. QRONO also sends automatic reminders before every deadline.
Property managers, condominium (PPE) administrators, owners of one or more buildings, municipalities and anyone managing a property portfolio: hotels, schools, public or commercial buildings.
Fire extinguishers, fire hose reels, smoke extraction systems, sprinklers, detectors, emergency lighting… You can also create your own categories and set the inspection interval for each.
The website is available in French, German, Italian and English. The app is currently in French; German, Italian and English are coming soon.
Yes. Sign-in only works with a code sent by email, and each organisation only sees its own buildings. For more details, see our privacy policy.
How it works
Two options. On your own: follow our setup guide, which describes each step (buildings, floor plans, equipment survey, labels, team, contracts). Or turnkey, the most common choice for property managers: we visit your buildings with the caretaker or property manager, survey every item of equipment, put up the labels and configure everything for you. Turnkey setup is billed by the hour, on quotation.
You print your labels from QRONO, in sheets or one at a time. They are neutral: a QR code and a short printed code, nothing else. Each code is unique and opens the equipment's record. They go on the bracket for portable equipment such as fire extinguishers, and on the device itself for fixed installations.
They simply sign in with their work email address. When you enter a maintenance contract, anyone with an address at that company (for example @company.ch) gets access to the buildings and categories it covers, without an invitation. A technician without access can request it by scanning the label and enter their inspection: it is recorded as soon as you approve it.
By default, 30 and 7 days before each deadline, the contracted company receives a reminder and the property manager is copied in. If an inspection is overdue, a follow-up goes out the day after the deadline and then every week, until the inspection is recorded. QRONO also warns you before the cancellation deadline of your maintenance contracts. All timings can be adjusted in the settings.
Yes. If a building's management changes hands, you can transfer the building to the organisation taking over, with its entire logbook: equipment, inspections, labels and floor plans. Directive 11‑15 (section 4.1.1(j)) in fact provides for the control logbook to be handed over in the event of a conversion or change of use. The transfer only takes effect once the recipient accepts it.
You enter your email address and receive a 6-digit code. No password to remember.
Yes. QRONO runs in the browser, on mobile, tablet and computer. The phone is used on site to survey, scan and sign, the computer at the office to manage the portfolio and contracts and to view the logbook.
